Abstract
This paper analyzes the impact of the provision of transport infrastructure on the
economy of small and medium towns. It shows the grouping of towns, through the assessment
of indicators of the presence of major highways and rail hubs and stations. Grouping,
combined with estimates of economic development obtained on the basis of SWOT analysis
allows to make some conclusions about the nature of the impact of transport infrastructure on
the changing economies of towns.
